Meet Joshua

Joshua Crockett has called McLean County home for his entire adult life.

After attending Heartland Community College and Illinois State University Joshua was elected to the Heartland Community College Board, where he’s served as a Trustee since 2021. He is on staff with Illinois State Senator Dave Koehler, managing his Bloomington-Normal office — working directly with neighbors, listening to their challenges, and helping find real solutions for our community.

Joshua knows McLean County inside and out, and he’s running to make sure everyone who lives here has the same opportunities to thrive he did.

Here in McLean County, hard work matters.

Neighbors show up for each other. And our leaders and government should work hard and show up for us.

Joshua believes public service is about stepping up when our community deserves better.

And right now, McLean County deserves better. That’s why he is running for McLean County Clerk.

The Clerk’s Office belongs to you, and it should reflect the values of the people it serves. As your Clerk, Joshua will work every day to restore transparency, accountability, and trust to the position.

Real experience. A commitment to accountability and efficiency.

The County Clerk should always be a responsible steward of your taxpayer dollars.

Joshua Crockett brings real financial oversight experience to the office. As an elected trustee on the Heartland Community College Board and a member of its Finance Committee, he has experience reviewing budgets, asking tough questions, and making responsible fiscal decisions.

McLean County residents deserve a County Clerk whose office is focused on accountability and efficiency, and Joshua is committed to delivering exactly that.

The responsible choice. Real ideas for the future.

Clerk on the Go

County government should meet people where they are. Access to vital records and services shouldn’t be limited to a single office in a county as large as ours.

As County Clerk, Joshua will bring services directly to people in their communities by partnering with public libraries, townships, and civic organizations to provide mobile access to services — birth certificates, marriage licenses, and other resources — in real time.

You won’t have to wait for documents to arrive in the mail or make a trip to Bloomington, you will walk away with the certified records you need in-hand.

Similar programs have been successful in neighboring counties, and Joshua will work to ensure McLean County residents receive the accessible, responsive government services their tax dollars pay for.

Universal Polling Places

Elections must always be secure. And, they should also be designed around the lives of everyday voters.

As County Clerk, Joshua will implement universal polling places, allowing voters to cast their ballot at any polling location within the Clerk’s jurisdiction during early voting or on Election Day.

Whether you’re on your way to work, juggling drop off or pick up at daycare or school, crisscrossing town, or simply finding yourself closer to a different polling place, you should have options.

Universal polling places modernize elections while maintaining the security and integrity voters expect. McLean County residents deserve an election system that works for today’s world.

Civic Engagement

McLean County is home to thousands of talented and hardworking students, and local government should better engage them in the democratic process.

As County Clerk, Joshua will partner with local high schools and colleges to recruit and train students to serve as paid election workers and technology support staff on Election Day, giving them first-hand experience with elections, civics, and public service.

Students will gain real-world experience and educational opportunities while helping ensure polling places run smoothly, efficiently, and securely for voters across McLean County.

Similar partnerships between election authorities and community colleges are already successfully operating elsewhere in Illinois, and it’s time to bring that same forward-thinking leadership to McLean County.
